*NEW* - Rebranding to the Jr. MUSTANGS

Hello All,

I hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Years.  I wanted to let everyone know that starting for 2019 the Friendship Patriots Youth Football program will be re-branding and re-associating as the Jr. Mustangs, a feeder program to Middle Creek High School football.

Our practice location, our values and mission and the great coaches we strive to recruit will not change, just our logo, name and our involvement with MCHS.

Myself and John Darrah set out to create a community based football program with Apex Friendship HS but sadly that relationship has not materialized nor went in the direction we had hoped.  It is our belief that having an affiliation with a high school program where kids can play together for years, get mentoring by the high school players, coaching staff etc.  creates a thriving environment for the players, the community and just good football!  As was with the Patriots this program is open to ANY player no matter what High School they would attend but in the case of any waitlist players indicating they track to Middle Creek HS will be given consideration first.

The Jr. Mustangs will be offering 10U, 12U and 14U age groups.  We are in talks with the Raleigh Revolution and several other area programs about coming together to form a new Triangle Youth Football League and play most games on the turf fields at Cardinal Gibbons HS.  The Jr. Mustangs will play a couple games at the MUSTANGS High School stadium this fall!   We will also run the Middle Creek HS offense; an offense that has produced 136 wins to only 63 loses, 7 conference championships and 3 NC 4A eastern championship appearances since 2004.  We will partner with Coach Randy Ragland, the MCHS staff and players to offer a Jr. Mustangs youth camp this summer.  Mustang players and coaches will visit practices to give insight, mentor etc.

Our new website is  Full transition over to the Jr. Mustangs logo etc. will happen in the next few weeks but the web address is live.  We will begin registrations in February for the 2019 fall season.   We want to thank everyone that has helped make the Patriots Youth Football program a success over the past three seasons and we look forward to providing an excellent youth football experience for Apex/Cary/Holly Springs/Fuquay families for years to come with the Jr. Mustangs!

John Darrah will be moving to a more background, supportive role to me and the Jr. Mustangs.  John has been a vital part to the Patriots through his tireless work on the website, fundraising, volunteer organization, the many hours of league meetings and over all administrative work that has to be done to pull off a program like this as well as serving as a coach!  I can promise you this, the Patriots would not have happened and been as successful without John’s help, leadership and work!  His son Owen is entering high school and his daughter into middle school next year and he expressed to me that it is time in his season of life to move to a more supportive and background role if I need him but not a day to day or onsite role any longer.  He and I set out to get this program viable and sustainable.  We have accomplished that and have the momentum to make such a transition.  THANK YOU JOHN!!!

If anyone has any question, concerns, comments etc.  please, feel free to email me at [email protected].   I realize many got involved with the Patriots due to goals to be a feeder for Apex Friendship HS and totally understand if you prefer not to participate in our transition and as a Jr. Mustang.  We wish everyone the best and if you ever need any thing please let us know.   Take care!

Chad Revelle
